TUMSIAD joined Turkey-Portugal Business Forum Portugal.

President of TUMSIAD Yaşar DOĞAN joined Turkey-Portugal Business Forum that took place at Olissippo Lapa Palace Hotel in Lisbon within the scope of Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu’s official visiting Portugal. Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan, Foreign Affair Minister Of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Treasury Secretary Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of European Union Affairs Volkan Bozkır, Minister of National Defence of Turkey İsmet Yılmaz, Lisbon as Ambassador of Turkey Ebru Barutçu and many business representers joined the tour organized by Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK).

In the meeting stating that the affairs have been amicable between these two countries, said that after beginning of intergovernmental summit with Spain, other port cities demanded in that way too and the summit that is going to take place will be the first summit with Portugal.

Informing that the trading volume of Turkey and Portugal is 1.3 billion, Mr. Davutoğlu said he believes in that the trading potential of these  two countries is higher. Telling that Turkish investments in Portugal have reached 13 million dollars, he said that he wishes for an increase in the investments like Global Ports Holding  which is the biggest investment project at present.

In 2014, stating there is %1 economic growth in Spain,  Mr. Davutoğlu highlighted that Spain’s economy got ahead in the way “clean exit from bailout”.  Following the briefing, Mr. Davutoğlu said that the ideas and thoughts he heard will form the basis of the intergovernmental summit and the actions to be taken.

At this juncture, President of TUMSIAD Yaşar DOĞAN who began to speak said that the trade of these two countries must increase by widening the cooperativeness areas. Also saying that collaborative work in tourism will be effective, underlined the importance of visual presentation and fair organizations for Cappadocia, Efes, and Pamukkale.
